PRODUCT GOOD ( better than inverter model), INSTALLATION NEEDS EXTRA CARE BY owners

1. Installation is Free (even mentioned in the JOB CARD the fitters bring) - AMAZON- dont misguide( mentioned 1500 on amazon site) and create space for voltas fitters to charge extra 1500, product is good so far,

2.Ask and get the complete installation planning from the fitters in advance, they dont even measure the pipes, distances etc , before starting to drill

3.Once they drill and fit indoor unit, then they come out saying problems with outdoor installation,

4. Product wise good, warranty registration with voltas is a bit hectic, they should allow us to call them and register rather then wait for their call, had to email the service head to get this thing done.

5. cooling good , Ac fitted on top floor 120 sq foot room , if room greater than 150 sq foot only then opt for 1.5 ton

Do not forget to call voltas guys for 2 FREE service in 1st year and 2 paid ( around 500 each) from 2nd to 5th year for keeping the additional warranty active

Update : I am not sure whether Amazon sent a unit that was partially faulty or whether it became faulty after few days of usage. Nevertheless the AC unit is malfunctioning pretty bad. The Compressor shuts down within couple of minutes and sometimes even less than a minute, and it creates a loud slam/bang noise when it does so. It has stabilizer and MCB trip installed, yet it kind of trips of shuts down abruptly.Emits a foul burning grease/oil smell when it send cold air for few minutes, indicating some fault.And yes, it's kind of obvious to say it's not cooling because of very short cycles.See the video attached for that gunshot bang noise.Unfortunately, the Voltas Techs are playing games by trying to sell Stabilizer and whatnots, but not addressing the actual problem in the AC.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The unit is not sufficient to cool a 100-110sqft room quickly. It takes almost an hour to even the temps, let alone chill at 35-37c temp.The remote is a huge gimmick! Beware ,only very few functions are usable as the remote is universal so the remaining functions are intended for their higher end ACs.For 20k inr, I don't feel like complaining a lot but however I regret buying this unit.Piece of advice : If buying a window unit ,always go for bigger capacity. Window ACs are quite noisy and energy hogging so if you go for a bigger unit, it'll cool the room quickly and shutoff compressor for more duration.Conclusion: Buy this only if you are strictly limited buy budget, otherwise go for bugger and better unit, as this is very basic and cooling is very moderate.

I bought this product in April 2018. The installation done through Amazon was terrible - they behaved like they were doing me a favour by installing it and asked for Rs 900 instead of Rs 500 as I had been told. The a/c however works quite well.
When the 6-monthly free service was offered in end-September, I called Voltas to specifically ask for a company technician, thinking that was a better option. After fixing a date and time, the technician did not arrive. When I called the service centre to ask where he was, they said so what if he hasn't reached yet. Then I spoke to the technician who again behaved like he was doing me a favour by coming 1 hour late. He spent 10 minutes doing the "service" - washing the a/c filter and dirtying my bathroom. He said the coil was clean and didn't need cleaning. And left. I told him about a noise and a bad smell (like a wet cloth) that comes sometimes. He said neither was coming at that time, and so wasn't bothered about it. I wasted the first half of my only weekly holiday on this nonsense. I will never buy a Voltas product again, nor recommend it to anyone else.

The Compressor shuts down within couple of minutes and sometimes even less than a minute, and it creates a loud slam/bang noise when it does so. It has stabilizer and MCB trip installed, yet it kind of trips of shuts down abruptly.

I have ACs of almost all brands in my house and office and I must say Voltas is the best amongst them all. Effective, energy efficient and they use high quality materials unlike some Korean/Chinese counterparts. This particular product 1 Ton 3 Star window AC is the most economical and smart option to buy at just Rs 20k. Don't go for 5 star option as there isn't much difference in energy savings as per cost difference. I have seen a few negative reviews and I don't know why these people expected a 1 ton AC to do wonders in a 150 Sq Ft room. If you're comfortable at 21-22 Degrees then you must go for 1 ton AC for a room upto 150 Sq Ft. If you want freezing cold temperatures then go for 1.5 Ton AC. This saves electricity and will keep you comfortably cool. Also the product is very quite so you won't hear the compressor sound in room.

I was away while the installation guy called , so i did not think much and asked them to come over as my parents were at home. Charged 1500 to just fit the ac into the pre designated spot and two pieces of wood to pack the sides.

Reviewing after 1 day of use and i have mixed reaction.
Pros
Good quality as usual from Voltas
Good service
Cools down after 30-45 mins (as i live in fourth top floor ) pretty decent for 1 ton ac .. expected to be faster cooling down after regular use in precooled room.

Cons
Service charge installation 500 (basic) 200 for the wires and 400 for removing grill and glass from the ventilator . Technically 500 for installation is just for putting the ac and nails. And yes the cost may increase if you put insulation around the ac. mine is not included.
Noisy but expected from a window one. Also installation plays one of the factor. The better the installation lesser the chance of unnecessary noise apart from that already loud noise of ac.
Voltas usually shows current room temperature rather than the set temperature by default. You can check both with temperature button on remote. I have 0.75 ton model from Voltas which also have that feature but sadly the 1 ton doesn't have it.
Horizontal swing functions on vertical swing(for split) button on remote.

Overall good budget ac. I hope the review is helpful.. will update more after a month of usage.
